CLIENT QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

What type of clients do you accept?

Devoted Independent Living welcomes all individuals and does not discriminate on the basis of any protected class. We accept clients whose needs we can safely, appropriately, and effectively support within the scope of our program.

What does the program provide?

We offer a structured, shared‑living environment focused on stability, accountability, and independent living skills. This includes housing, basic household supplies, community expectations, and supportive guidance.

Is this a treatment or medical program?

No. We are a non‑medical, non‑clinical independent living program. We do not provide therapy, medication management, or personal care services.

How long can I stay?

Length of stay varies by individual needs and progress. Most clients participate for a minimum of 90 days, with options to extend if they continue meeting program expectations.

What are the rules or expectations?

Clients must follow household guidelines, respect shared spaces, maintain cleanliness, participate in required check‑ins, and demonstrate consistent progress toward independence.

Can I have visitors?

Visitor policies vary by property and are designed to maintain safety and structure. All visitors must be approved in advance.

What items can I bring with me?

Clients may bring personal clothing, hygiene items, and approved personal belongings. Large furniture, weapons, illegal substances, and disruptive items are not permitted.

What happens if I don’t follow the rules?

We use a progressive accountability system. Repeated violations or unsafe behavior may result in warnings, corrective actions, or discharge from the program.

Is transportation provided?

Transportation is not guaranteed. Clients are encouraged to use public transit, rideshare, or personal arrangements.

How do I apply or get referred?

Clients or referral partners can submit an intake request through our online form.  A screening inteview will determine whether the program is an appropriate fit.
